One house, private guest rooms

A single-story home at the end of a leafy cul-de-sac where South Miami meets Coral Gables, on a quarter acre of tropical garden. The street ends at the driveway, so it stays quiet. Guests have their own locked room and share the rest of the house with each other and with James, who usually lives on site.

Kitchen

Fully equipped and yours to cook in: induction stovetop, air fryer, Vitamix, microwave, full-size fridge, and the usual pots, pans, and plates. Label what is yours in the fridge; each room also has its own mini fridge.

Living room

A large sectional, a leather sofa, a TV, and a skylight. Shared with the other guests and the host.

Screened patio

Wood ceiling, tile floor, a dining table, and several hammocks. Screened, so no mosquitoes. This is where most guests end up in the evening.

Garden

A fenced lawn under palms and crotons, with a BBQ. The Garden Queen Room opens straight onto it.

House rules

  • Self check-in from 3 pm, check-out by 10 am. Early or late times on request.
  • Quiet hours are 11 pm to 7 am. Other guests may be working or studying, and no parties.
  • No smoking indoors; outside in the garden is fine. Pets are welcome. Please inquire about rates if you plan on bringing a pet.
  • Rooms sleep two. Visitors who are not registered guests need approval in advance.
  • Clean up after yourself in the kitchen; the next guest cooks after you.
  • Off-street parking on site as available. If on-site parking is full, there is plenty of street parking a 20-second walk from the front door. EV charging on a NEMA 14-50 outlet is available for a fee if you ask before arrival.
  • MetroConnect rides are free or extremely cheap, but depend on availability and hours; check the app before relying on it.
  • The cancellation policy is shown with each reservation and changes depending on the dates. Please verify the policy for your dates before booking.
